Without a Trace

Things you lose, lost in thought or to lose yourself. Thomas Pynchon says temporal bandwidth varies in direct proportion to personal density. So, as that figure approaches zero, one becomes less “real”. What happens when that figure becomes negative?

Windshield Vipers

The all-new Timedog Anomaly, ready for anything. Heads-up displays, automatic everything, all the latest safety devices.

But hurry. It just might get away from you.

Totem

Dammit, Kevin, you had one job to do. But no, you had to make a statement invoking the gods of goodies while his forest friends OD on Cheapos™ and Scam™. Recording the scene is a Timedog™ tripod.

Buzzed

I read that bees will sometimes get fermented fruit juice or nectar. When they get back to the hive, the other bees won’t let the drunk bee in.

Go home and sleep it off.

Of course, premium bees drink only the very best, Timedog’s mead and hard cider.

Flying Paper Airplanes to the Moon

You’re 6 or 7 years old, and watching the moon one night. What if you could get there by paper airplane or in a soap bubble?

And Mamma, that’s where the fun is.

The Sound of Erasing

The only reason to ban books to erase the truth.  Do you just ignore the first black female aviator who got her international license before Amelia Earhart? Why not teach more history? The truth isn’t black and white. We shouldn’t be afraid of the shades of gray. And I don’t need Gov. DeSantis to tell me how “woke” I’m allowed to be.

WINNER! First Place 2024 TESA at Stirling Studios and Gallery, “Art Blooms” show.

Drowning in Luxury

He’s your guy when stocks are high. Beware when they start to descend… Too much of a good thing. Timedog Industries is there to help.

Beachcomber

Beach Comber takes place after those pesky humans have left.
Timedog heavy industries, where tomorrow is so yesterday. Introducing the Beach Comber 3000 metal detector. The 3000 is programmed with the latest island data and easy to follow instructions. Helpful drones scour the beaches for likely sites to recycle past technology. Nothing is wasted.
Popular robots of the past will be refurbished and refitted for use in the exciting world of tomorrow.

400 Horses with Jeff Goldblum

400 Horses or Horsepower? Jeff Goldblum’s costume from Buckaroo Bonsai (1984).

John Milton-Bradley: Paradise Rented

Adam and Eve evicted from their apartment due to rent hikes. They will never own their home, and avocado toast has nothing to do with it.

Tiny Creatures

A frustrated squirrel is air traffic controller for a group of rogue Timedog Drones.

A Likely Story

Little Mister is in big trouble.

We Have the Technology

Intro to “The Six Million Dollar Man” (1973). “We can rebuild him,” they said. Sure. Knock yourself out.

Window Seat

Flying a metal bird to Des Moines under a honeymoon sky. Sun rays over the patchwork fields.

Birds on a Wire

Drone birds “on a wire” have to maintain themselves. Have they always been mechanical?

Dots4U

Vintage Comics vs. Technology vs. Fine Art theme. I switched from oils to digital to save time and open doors. I print on canvas to retain a connection to traditional art media. Support your local artists. They have a better chance of changing the way we view things than upscale galleries.

Chardonnay Says

“Chardonnay Says” is a song by Nood(2006) about a bad Tarot reading. Chardonnay, stars in her eyes, doesn’t see the dangers around her. Her crystal ball has been repurposed, her Ouija board is broken. Even the fortune cookie is trying to warn her. Her mismatched Tarot cards tell us she isn’t playing with a full deck.

In Search of the Double Felix

Felix wonders about the DNA of early animation studios. (I once sold a painting to the great grandniece of Winsor McKay when her husband was restoring original cels of “Gertie the Dinosaur” (1912), a landmark animation series.) So with a huge DNA in the background, “catfish” swim overhead while sea grass movies wave below.

Gangster's Breakfast

Modern gangster or retro gangster? Public Enemy or Flash Gordon?

WINNER! Honorable mention 2024 TESA at Carrollwood Cultural Center, “Hot Days of Summer” show.

The Legend of King Canute

Harald Bluetooth introduced coinage to Denmark and in 1015 invaded England. Cnute, his grandson, ruled as king of England and scandinavia for 20 years. One day, Cnute ordered his throne placed by the sea at low tide and commanded the ocean to not rise and take his land. The tide came in and he took his soggy throne back proclaiming the power of kings “empty and worthless.” Here we see his throne, the orb and scepter of power, the Danegeld to prevent Danish raids, and King Cnute with his worthless crown, wearing his chain mail. The coins are struck with Victor Borge and Scooby-Doo, two “Great Danes.”

Daybreak

The breaking of dawn. Literally

iChart

Evolution of sight from the earliest sense of light to the complexity of the human eye. 1)primitive eye as camera obscura 2)Eye in the sky with oligarchs reflected 3)Some see themselves as superheroes 4)some see themselves by the money they make. 5)eye of the needle 6)eye of the hurricane 6)eye exams with lenses and self reflection.
